Track3 ist ein Klarinetten-Viola-Klavier-Trio, das sich der Aufführung von Werken des 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts widmet. Der Name steht symbolisch für drei Wege, die sich kreuzen: Musiker*innen aus Taiwan, Estland und den USA, deren unterschiedliche Stimmen in einem Raum der Neugier und des Entdeckens aufeinandertreffen.

In June, the trio was awarded the Dwight and Ursula Mamlok Prize for Interpreters of Contemporary Music and made its debut at the Berlin Konzerthaus, for which the musicians were praised by Der Tagesspiegel for their “expressiveness and sonic sensitivity.” Other recent performance highlights include appearances at the Klangbrücken Festival in Hanover, the Voraushören concert series in Frankfurt, and the world premiere of Jesper Nordin’s Frozen Still Trio at the Magazin-Festival in Hanover.

Formed in 2024 with a shared desire to push the boundaries of its unusual instrumentation, Track3 collaborates closely with composers to realize new musical visions and explore fresh sonic possibilities. In 2025, Track3 was an Ensemble-in-Residence at the Impuls Festival in Graz, developing new works with three young composers under the mentorship of Clara Iannotta.

This fall, Track3 will premiere “Umbruch/Turning Point”, an interdisciplinary multimedia project highlighting composers from countries under the threat of fascism. The work, which received support from the Deutsche Orchester‑Stiftung, will be presented at the Unerhörte Musik concert series in Berlin, featuring premieres by composers Jinwook Jung, Alisa Kobzar, Po-Chien Liu, and Tianyu Zou. This season also marks Track3 making their Estonian debut, with performances at the AFEKT Festival.

The trio has worked with composers including Franck Bedrossian, Martón Illés, and Jesper Nordin and has received mentorship from members of Quatuor Diotima, Klangforum Wien and Ensemble Modern.

Track3 engagiert sich für die Vergabe von Kompositionsaufträgen und die Erarbeitung neuer Werke, die das Repertoire für diese Besetzung erweitern, und bringt in seinen Programmen eine große Bandbreite kompositorischer Stimmen zusammen – Programme, die Innovation, Reflexion und Entdeckung fördern.
